About

What this site is

What to Buy in China helps English-speaking visitors decide what is worth buying in China, where to buy it, and how to buy it well. We publish city shopping guides, buying guides by category, individual product recommendations, and practical how-to guides.

How we choose

Every recommendation states why it is worth considering, who it suits, who it does not suit, what to check before buying, and where it can actually be found. Prices are shown as ranges, verified observations with a date, or clearly marked unknown — we do not invent savings claims. See How we choose for the full method.

Business model

The site is reader-supported. As of October 2026 we have no affiliate partnerships, so every outbound link on this site is an ordinary editorial link. If that ever changes, the relationship will be disclosed next to the link and on the Affiliate Disclosure page.
